Organization at a glance

Bauniabad Protibondhi Unnayan Sangstha is a Disabled Peoples Organization (DPO) working in the Dhaka district of Bangladesh. The organization was established in 2001 Being started involving 120 persons with disabilities with support from ADD International Bangladesh now the organization has a total of 300 members; among them, males 120 and females180.

The organization implements its activities ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities. According to the bylaws of the organization there are 35 members in its General Committee and 7 members are in the Executive Committee.

The organizational activities are implemented by the staff and volunteers following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations. Besides, the organization is striving for partnerships with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs through ensuring active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities as well as providing capacity building and technical assistance.
